Riccoboni alongside the Associazione Pionieri e Veterani ENI
On Friday 15th May, the Riccoboni Group had the pleasure of meeting the Associazione Pionieri e Veterani ENI (ENI Association of Pioneers and Veterans) – Ravenna Section, for the book launch of “Io mi ricordo: il mitico CRAL AGIP degli anni Ottanta e le sue attività” [I remember: the legendary CRAL AGIP of the 1980s and its activities], a publication which the Group had the honour of sponsoring.
This project makes a priceless contribution to preserving historical memory and demonstrates the value of the professional careers, relationships and experiences that characterised an important period in Italian industrial history. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who helped produce the book and collect the testimonies which make it so good.
The book’s subtitle, “40 anni dopo: 1985–2025” [40 years later: 1985–2025], offers an important opportunity for reflection. Forty years are not just a period of time, but a bridge that connects generations, experiences and changes which have shaped the world of work, industry and innovation.
The productive and economic context was very different in 1985: this period was characterised by major industrial changes, by rapid technological development and by new challenges in the energy sector. They were also the years when a growing focus started to develop on environmental issues and corporate responsibility. The collaborative relationship between Riccoboni and Agip was strengthened against this backdrop.
The partnership had already been launched in the 1960s in the construction industry and, throughout the 1980s, it saw major development in the environmental sector, in particular supporting research and drilling activities in the Adriatic Sea.
The book acts as a reminder of how people are always behind every business: day-to-day work, a sense of belonging, passion, commitment and those human relationships that help create a real professional community. The CRAL AGIP of the 1980s was a meeting place for sharing and growth, leaving a legacy that still holds considerable value today.
Meeting the veterans there served as a priceless chance to recall an important part of this history together through stories, memories and testimonies that still pass on values and lessons to new generations.
